Ad Networks

Ad Networks are organizations which create marketplaces that marry advertisers with publishers. The Ad Network earns a percentage of the commissions offered by advertisers for sales/transactions which result from relationships established within the Ad Network. Ad Networks track campaign performance results between the Advertisers and Publishers on their network. In addition, all finances are managed through the network. The Advertiser pays the Ad Network and then the Network is responsible for distributing those funds to the Publishers who generated the traffic/leads for that Advertiser.

Organizational Interest

An Ad Network must continually recruit and maintain relationships with both Advertisers and Publishers. As more and more Publishers join a Network the more strength and sending volume that network has to offer an Advertiser. In addition, Ad Networks must offer its publishers campaigns which have the highest earning potential in order to maintain their interest and loyalty. Ad Networks are continually competing against other Networks to have the most financially rewarding mix of high volume publishers and advertisers with strong campaigns/offers.

Compliance Concerns

Ad Networks need to provide a safe and compliant environment for both Advertisers and Publishers doing business within their network. Networks traditionally have little or no visibility into the sending quality of their publishers. This can endanger an Advertiser. Alternatively, an Advertiser may not be supplying Publishers with updated suppression files and that can negatively impact the Publisher’s Sending IPs’ reputation.

  • Are suppression files being used and/or misused by Publishers?
  • Are Publishers using approved/relevant SUBJECT lines?
  • Are Publishers using accurate and approved FROM Lines?
  • Do all emails contain a working unsubscribe mechanism?
  • Do all emails contain a postal address?
  • Are emails being sent to harvested email addresses?
  • Do emails contain forged headers?
  • Are Advertisers protecting their suppression file from misuse?
  • Are Advertisers sending an updated suppression file to the Network on a timely basis?
  • Are emails being sent through an open relay?
